    Allow me to re-introduce myself…

    Spring is here 🌱🏵

    Good afternoon world.

    This blog is a place for me to collate all of my varied artistic practise and creative endeavours, as well as connect over various aspects of my work and life.

    Come along for the ride with me. I would love for this site to be a shared space open to discussion. I invite you to share your thoughts here.

    You may be wondering, why “The Other Brief”? There are three main reasons

    1. It contains Bri which is the first three letters of my name
    2. The Other Brief refers to responding to another brief for life, Kind of like the road less travelled.
    3. I first created my blog and YouTube Channel when I was 16. At the time, I had been through a life circumstance which had meant my future looked radically different to what I had expected, and at the same time I felt very othered by people in my life. The name came as a result of my reflections on that experience.

    A few house rules, because this website is public and I want this to be a cosy, friendly corner of the internet for warm fuzzies and hot tea kind of chats

    1. Respect, for yourself and others
    2. Kindness, always
    3. Patience, we are all only human

    I recently had the pleasure of attending a creative writing and meditation workshop with Margi Brown Ash, a beautiful artist and mentor. We made collages as well as tiny clay sculptures (I made a space cow). It was a lovely reflective day and I got so much joy from the experience. Go be around other artists! It is heart warming.
    I participated with my family in the Garage Salte Trail as part of my local council area recently. We made $60, which considering it was money for nothing I am pretty pleased with. There is another weekend to go and plenty to sell, so wish us luck!
